Splash Line-up Next Round

Splash didn't make a splash with all viewers after the first heat (featuring Jake Canuso as the candy) had been aired. But it left a lot of room for improvements. And I have to give it to ITV, they did improve, and dramatically, too. The second and third heats were worth watching for several reasons. And then there is always Tom Daley.

While the first show in the series of Splash had been lengthy and at times on the edge of boredom, ITV stepped up to the challenge and the critics. The second show (featuring Joey Essex as candy) had more speed and the shows put on by the Splash diving team were astonishing. And that diving team improved for the third show (featuring Anthony Ogogo as candy) in the series. If you haven't seen anything of Splash so far, you should. And while dives by Tom Daley had been scarce at first, now we see a lot more of him and his speedos.

The first three shows whittled down the contestants. From five starters in each airing, only two were promoted to the semi-final. And that means, we lost Joey Essex as a candy for later shows and have to be content with Jake Canuso and Anthony Ogogo, and always Tom Daley obviously. I can live with that, especially if Anthony Ogogo goes for an even kinkier speedo than the one with pink glitter. But he did fill them well from every angle.

I will be watching next time again. For those that missed out so far, some candy pictures including Joey Essex by way of farewell. And, as you know, I never miss a chance to put up some of Tom Daley's, either.
