Splash!: It Worked for Dan Osborne

We all know the forgotten VIPs and the ones that would like to be VIPs taking part in reality TV shows. It doesn't really matter if it is the Big Brother house or the jungle, dance floor, ice field or the pool. None of the former contestants can claim that it worked for them to ignite or reignite a flagging career. But then Dan Osborne showed that it can be done. Dice were rigged in his favor, though.

Daniel Radcliffe Crippled on 24th Birthday

Actor Daniel Radcliffe was catapulted to fame as the boy who played Harry Potter. His story has become inextricably linked to the wizard. But he managed to step out of his own shadow and all his clothes and appeared naked on stage in Equus. Next came his singing debut in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying to take New York and the Broadway. On his 24th birthday, Daniel Radcliffe is set to play a cripple in the West End.

Call Me Maybe, and Real Life

Do you enjoy Carly Rae Jepsen's video Call Me Maybe as much as I do? I was first drooling and then laughing like an idiot the first time I saw it. The video becomes that much more funny when you know that there are stories to back it up. And Holden Nowell is worth watching no matter what.

That Awkward Moment When

The dirty old men and hags from the advertising department have been busy again. They intervened once more with Google AdSense. To make my life easier, I got rid of the text that made the advertising guys and girls drool and castrated the pictures to show only what can be shown before the watershed. Or should, we know that the TV stations cheat like hell.

Merlin Returns to the Screens

It's magic. October comes and a new series of Merlin appears on screen. The success of a well known story broken into bite size bits and staffed with over-pretty actors and actresses breeds sequel after sequel. The magic of it is that just about everyone has some idea how the general story runs. Missed an episode? Not that important; you'll still be able to follow what is going on based on what you know.

Magic Mike for Testosterone Hunters

Magic Mike is the latest film showing a lot of male bodies in nothing more than strings and leather - and often less. It is aimed at testosterone hunters, those out for the thrill of undressing in public or for the voyeuristic pleasure of seeing someone do so. The story is supposed to represent that of a male stripper trying to enter a relationship. I took that from the description supplied by Warner Bros. It is not obvious when watching the movie.

Zac Efron Reinvented

Zac Efron has reinvented himself. Or he has reinvented his body. The slim dancing teen has become Hulk Hogan while we were looking somewhere else. Nothing left of the young boy charm of Troy Bolton, and mothers should think twice to describe him as favorite son-in-law now. He now looks like the perfect sin-in-law for boys and girls (and mums and dads).

Fake Coming Out For Taylor Lautner

The Internet was awash with the cover of People's Magazine showing Taylor Lautner (clothed) and the headline about his coming out. Many fell for it. Those that were caught in the scam sensation were definitely not People's reader. I can't remember it ever appearing on a Saturday as this cover purported to do. And special double issues appear twice a year in summer and at the end of the year; for mid summer it is a bit cold right now, and the end of the year is usually on the other side of New Year's Day. That is at least how I understand it.

Too Pretty for Dickens?

I for one think an actor is an actor. If he is a good actor, then watching him play is fun, if he is a bad actor, well then it is definitely no fun. Bad actors don't get better just because they are good looking or sexy. But seemingly, there are people who think that if an actor is too good looking then his acting becomes worse. Someone understand this as I don't.

Brazilian Male Model Andrei Ries

A modelling career may be the dream of many a beautiful teen boy. If you think it is easy money, then you should first read the interview with Andrei Ries in absoluttomag in Portuguese. In it, the Brazilian actor and model was quite candid about how much work went into his career. He also stressed the deprivations of being apart from family and friends for long periods of time. If you are not prepared to work hard, to put up with being alone, and to live out of your suitcase, then look for something else to do.
